Eternal Redemption. Daniel Rodes

Many people are sin conscious, because they do not know what the blood of Jesus does. It takes faith to believe that the blood cleanses you from all sin.

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Heb 9:11-12 KJV)

1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. (Heb 10:1-2 KJV)

If God said He gave you eternal redemption, you have to believe it. “But I don’t feel like that!” It has nothing to do with reality. You need to get rid of the conscientiousness of sin (I’m just a sinner saved by grace) and start seeing yourself in victory.

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (Heb 10:16 KJV)

I want you to notice: the law is in your heart and in your mind.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, (Heb 10:19 KJV)

You are no longer hoping you prayers will be heard,  but you have relationships with the Lord and have direct understanding. Men have tendency to go by feelings. But you are saved by His blood, not if you feel it or not. We need to walk by faith in the blood.

Today we will talk about understanding the communion service. What do we have communion for? What are we expecting to accomplish? We will never understand communion until we understand why Jesus wants us to eat Hid flesh and drink His blood.

We were born with sinful nature.  There is no one righteous. It took something to get us broke loose from sin. I need to appeal my case before God. We are reconciled to God through the atonement.

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. (Rom 5:10-11 KJV)

The Kingdom Of Heaven is at Hand

The Kingdom of Heaven is at HandI want you to be prepared to turn to a whole bunch of scripture. I’ve been looking at this subject of the kingdom of heaven. I want to look at a whole bunch of verses that have to do with the kingdom of heaven. The title of my message this morning is “the kingdom of heaven is at hand”.

In Matthew 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

This is a very interesting verse to me because it really it is the beginning of the New Testament. And many of you know that the OT the last prophet was the prophet Malachi. He brought a message to the backslidden nation of Israel. He was calling for repentance for things that were creeping into the nation of Israel. After the Prophet Malachi spoke the windows of heaven were shut. The prophetic voice of God was silenced for a period of 400 years.

For you that don’t understand how long 400 years is, it is longer than America has been a nation. That’s how long God didn’t speak through the prophetic voice to the nation of Israel.

you get to the book of Matthew and all of a sudden a prophet rises up by the name of John the Baptist. The anointing of a prophet was upon him. The first words he had to say to the nation of Israel in verse 2:

KJV Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

What did John the Baptist mean by this? What did he mean by “the kingdom of heaven is at hand”? And, what does repentance have to do with the Kingdom of Heaven?

Well, if you have your Bibles, go with me over to chapter 4. In this chapter Jesus is led into the wilderness to be tempted of the Devil. As He comes out of that temptation victorious the Bible tells us that the power of the Spirit was upon Him (in Luke) and this was the official start of Jesus’ ministry.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

What does it mean by this statement that the kingdom of heaven is at hand?

Why do we have to repent? What’s that have to do with it? Where is this kingdom of heaven?

There are also references to the kingdom of God.

KJV Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

What is He teaching? Preaching the gospel of the kingdom. What are the results of the gospel of the kingdom?

Healing of the sick, all manners of diseases being healed. They are bringing sick people to him in verse 24 that were taken with diverse diseases, that were tormented, possessed of the devil. Those who were lunatics and those that palsy and those that needed healing. And He healed them. Brothers and sisters, you need to know something this morning. Healing is a part of the New Covenant message. It’s a part of the gospel of the kingdom. If you’ve got churches claiming to proclaim the Gospel and healing is not manifesting itself there, they are preaching another gospel. It’s that simple. Part of the Gospel of the Kingdom is the healing power of God. If that’s not in your gospel, you don’t have the Gospel of the Kingdom. It’s that serious.

Now Brothers and sisters the only way into this kingdom is the way John the Baptist spoke about, the way of repentance. The only way into this Kingdom is the way Jesus spoke about. It’s the way of repentance.

Now, this kingdom of heaven manifesting itself in Jesus life is this way. Let’s see what He says about it in the next chapter. Matthew 5:3. He began to talk about the qualifications of the Kingdom and he said:

Divine Inheritance

Pastor Kevin Campbell’s familyPastor Kevin Campbell

You are blessed. What will bring you in the days ahead it will be the things invisible. You can rely on them. When you don’t have anything to eat these invisible things can provide you food. You life is in the things Your Father says.

Today I want to talk about divine inheritance. To inherit something the one who gave it to you must die.

1 Peter 1. You are not forgotten, you are begotten.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1Pe 1:3-5 KJV)

You are kept by the power of God. Grace is power of God.

Testimonies come from tests.

Grace will come to you at revelation of Jesus Christ. The more you suffer the more you will understand what He went through to get you out of it. You have a way out of your suffering, He did not.

Don’t let anything in this world to take your inheritance from you. Lay hold of eternal life.

Scriptures Promising Salvation for Believer’s Children

When we pray we have to rely on promises written in God’s Word. Here are some of the promises about salvation of the children of believing parents.

Isaiah 49:24-25 24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?  25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

Isaiah 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Isaiah 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Isaiah 44:3-5 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses. One shall say, I am the LORD’S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered [saved].

How to Get Someone Saved That Satan Has Bound

Pastor Thurman Scrivner

How many of you have loved ones that are lost and want nothing to do with God?

I know many of you are that way because I have talked to many who have asked me, “Why can’t i lead my loved one to Christ?  Can they not see the wonderful things Jesus has done for us on the cross?  Do they not want to go to heaven when they die? Why would anyone want to live in the devil’s way here on earth and then go to hell when they die?”

These are all very good questions, and it took me many years and hundreds of hours of study in the Word of God to find the answers.  I finally found them, and since then, I have used what I found to get many people saved.

If you will pay very close attention you will learn how to get your lost ones saved. Please take note . . .

First you must be a born again, baptized believer. Then you must know your position in Christ. You must know you are seated in the heavens in Christ.

Eph 2:4-7, Tlb

4  But God is so rich in mercy; he loved us so much
5  that even though we were spiritually dead and doomed by our sins, he gave us back our lives again when he raised Christ from the dead–only by his undeserved favor have we ever been saved–6  and lifted us up from the grave into glory along with Christ, where we sit with him in the heavenly realms–all because of what Christ Jesus did.
7  And now God can always point to us as examples of how very, very rich his kindness is, as shown in all he has done for us through Jesus Christ.

You must know you are a joint heir with Christ. (ROM 8:15-18 TLB)

A Lion Killed My Dog

In Montana there was a little dog named Max. I’ve know it for years. This dog was quite a little character. Once he went to a house on a steep hill. He did not come back. They decided to check on him. They come there and see that little Max is dead and a mountain lion was licking his blood off of him.

Today I will focus on spiritual dogs and lions.

Panel Discussion of Dr. Desmond Ford’s Presentation on Forensic Atonement

On September 6, 2008 following Dr. Ford’s presentation “Forensic Atonement Theory in Light of the Christian Gospel” at Loma Linda a distinguished panel engaged in a dialogue and discussed various aspects of the lecture.

Distinguished PanelThe panel was composed of scholars from La Sierra and Loma Linda Adventist Universities: Professor Fritz Guy and Professor Kendra Haloviak from La Sierra University School of religion, Larry Christoffel, Pastor of the Loma Linda campus Hill church and Professor Jon Paulien, Dean of the School of Religion at Loma Linda University, the moderator of the discussion.

* * *

Dr. Jon PaulienJon Paulien, PhD: Let me introduce our members. We’ll be going a little less than an hour, and around 5 o’clock written questions will be delivered to me and by some magical system I will choose a few of those to share with the panel. …

Dr. F. GuyWe have Fritz Guy who is with us from La Sierra University – a systematic theologian, philosophical theologian, and one of my Professors at seminary, for which I will always be grateful.

Pastor Larry ChristoffelWe have Larry Christoffel, who is one of the pastors here at the campus Hill church. He will bring us, I think, a bit of a perspective of practical pastoral theology.

Dr. K. HaloviakTo my right is Kendra Haloviak, who I was deeply privileged to have as a student at the seminary. And sometimes your students go beyond you, and Kendra would be one of those who I’m very proud of. And she is at La Sierra University, and we share a specialty in the New Testament and in the book of Revelation in particular.

Dr. Desmond FordTo my left of course in the man of the hour [Dr. Desmond Ford] and I’d like to open this discussion with a short testimony. We have hardly ever met, I think just in passing a couple of times. So this is really our closest acquaintance. And I would like to tell you that growing up as a Seventh Day Adventist I was one of those weird children who spent a lot of time in the Bible, and kind of knew the Bible back and forth. I was even in New York City on some Bible quizzes and came out very successfully over the radio as a small child. But there were two books of the Bible that always troubled me. They were not Daniel and Revelation, they were Romans and Galatians. And it just seemed to me, if somehow those could be left out of the Bible, the Adventism I knew could be perfectly defended [laughter in the audience].

Bible’s Chief Metaphor on How to Get Right with God

Right Now despite Sinfulness, Failures and Follies

Desmond Ford

Loma Linda, September 6, 2008

By Dr. Desmond Ford

If you have felt impatient in the last half hour, I know someone much more sinful in that respect. He is talking to you.

None the less, it is a joy to be here. As a matter of fact at my age, it is a joy to be anywhere [laughter].

I beg of you not to be put off by the title assigned me for this lecture. It could just as easily have been “What Is The Bible’s Chief Metaphor On How To Get Right With God Right Now Despite Sinfulness, Failures And Follies?”

The word “forensic” sounds so metallic impersonal, cold. But it just means “according to law”. And law is codified “love”. Law is not God’s creation, it’s God’s nature. Law is alive on God’s throne, sways His scepter, basks in His glory. Without it you and I could not survive 5 seconds. Law tells us, that the universe is not haphazard. Law tells us of the secret of lasting joy is obedience to law – physical, mental and spiritual.

Desmond Ford’s Presentation at Loma Linda. September 6, 2008

Desmond FordLoma Linda’s Hill Church on Sabbath, September 6, 2008, hosted Dr. Desmond Ford, the most significant theologian produced by the Adventist church. The hot topic of the afternoon was his presentation on the Forensic Atonement Theory In Light Of the Christian Gospel. This was probably the first time D. Ford was given an opportunity to speak at an Adventist Church in North America since Glacier View.

The event was sponsored by the Adventist Today Foundation.

Desmond Ford was introduced by the executive director of the Adventist Today Foundation, Dr. Ervin Taylor:

Ervin Taylor, PhD“On behalf of the Adventist Today Foundation who is the publisher of the journal “Adventist Today” I would like to welcome you to this 2008 Richard Hammill Memorial lecture. This lecture series honors the late Richard Hammill, the scholar, who had a long and distinguished carrier as a Seventh-day Adventist educator, University administrator and a senior churchman. In the early and mid 1990-s in active retirement at Loma Linda Dr. Hammill became involved in discussions, which contributed greatly to the advancement of progressive approaches to various traditional Adventist theological understandings. Today, we honor the memory of Dr. Hammill by seeking through open dialog a better understanding and appreciation of the range of views on important theological and other issues that are currently being discussed by scholars both within the Adventist faith and within a larger Christian community.
