We Need a Major Reformation In the Youth

Until we are converted we will not in the right direction. Nobody who broke God’s law got away with it. Payday is coming. Commandments have to be kept or satan will kill you.

I have a duty to fall on my face before God and appeal for my family. Multitude of young people are in trouble. You can have a heart which is absolutely pure.

Born to Win. By Daniel Rodes

INTRODUCTION

This book was not written for men only. Although the word men or man is used freely, I am not referring to male, but mankind. It is my goal and prayer to stir up men and women to become all they can be in this life, to set out to get a dream, a vision and not stop until they see the vision fulfilled.

This is not a weird dream or unscriptural vision someone gets or claims to have from the Lord. Such dreams and visions have brought havoc and embarrassment to the Christian faith. The dream or vision I am talking about is when you have a desire to do something. You see yourself accomplishing it. You have a dream to achieve it. You have the mentality of a winner.

Get a vision or dream to become useful to mankind. Get a vision of becoming a winner. You can do it. Others did, so can you.

We desperately need men and women who can bring change to a world that is quickly getting out of control. We need men and women who care enough about other people that they are willing to be the person for the hour and leave a great influence on others.

Many people across the world have a defeated attitude and outlook in life. There is little incentive to get out there and get something done. I hope this book will stir you to the extent that you realize. Are Born To Win! Go for it!

CHAPTER ONE

GETTING STARTED

Anyone Can Be A Winner

Anyone can become a winner in life and be successful: young or old, weak or strong, rich or poor, known or unknown. I am not saying that you will be rich or own houses, lands, factories, and live in luxury. This book is not written to show you how to get rich. It is to show you how to become a winner. You can be a winner without being rich and owning a fortune. In fact, it wasn’t money that motivated most of the champions of the past to become successful. It was a vision.

Getting A Vision-A Dream

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he (Proverbs 29:18).

There are two very important statements in the above verse that you should consider before you can become a winner. The first one is you must have a vision. The second statement is you must operate in that vision God’s way. If you do not have a vision, you cannot expect to become a winner or be successful. Successful men and women have always had a vision of accomplishing something in life. If you intend to accomplish anything in life, you must get a vision. You can do it if you remember you are Born to Win.

Ask The Lord For An Idea

If you don’t have a dream, ask the Lord to help you get a dream or a vision. Use your mind-think. That is what God gave you a mind for. Great minds conceive great ideas. Start thinking about what you would like to accomplish. Get a vision to not only help yourself, but others as well. If you keep thinking about your dream or vision, sooner or later it will become a part of you. Dream about becoming a success. Plan to become a success. See yourself prosperous. Get enthusiastic. The Lord will help you become a winner if your attitudes are right and you are motivated by the right spirit.

Train Yourself To Think Big

You may have heard people say, “If I could but keep one heart from breaking, I have not lived in vain.” That statement may sound good to the loser, but it is certainly not a goal for a winner. There is certainly more than one person we can help in a lifetime. A winner must train his mind to think big, but stay within the realms of common sense. Too many have failed in their vision because they had zeal without knowledge (Romans 10:2).

Stop thinking about how small you are. Start thinking about how big God is. Train your mind to think big. When we think success, we strive for success. When we think failure, we are apt to fail. We are what we think about. Proverbs 23:7 tells us, as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Get Faith In Your Vision

You must have faith in your vision. No dream or vision is ever manifested unless there is faith behind the vision. Faith not only speaks, it acts. Faith accomplishes something. Faith comes by obeying the Word of God and confessing it with your mouth, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17). Notice the words, “faith cometh.” The more we speak the Word, the more faith comes. Faith in your vision is a must if you plan to see your vision fulfilled.

Nothing But Your Best

School teachers become a success when they improve their teaching skills. Successful teachers not only teach, but they influence the lives of those around them. They help others in their classroom to develop into quality men and women. If a school teacher is enthusiastic and has a winning attitude, the pupils will learn to do the same.

A prosperous farmer learns to farm. He has a vision and dream of becoming a successful farmer. He studies about the soil, livestock, tractors, and machinery. He cannot be careless about his livestock, but takes good care of them, seven days a week, 365 days a year. He is constantly learning. He learns from other successful farmers. He learns what to do and what not to do. He knows in order for him to be successful, he must sow his seed at the right time. He must harvest his fields when they are ready for harvest. If you want to be a success, you must be as the farmer. Expect a harvest. Prepare for the harvest. Learn how to reap the harvest. A dream without action is of little value. See yourself the best you can be. Expect to do great things. Expect to be a blessing to others.

A successful businessman sees himself as prosperous. He visualizes himself as a very successful person. He discovers ways to better serve his customers. He searches for ways to make his business more successful.

A good evangelist is not good because he has the ability to draw large crowds. What makes an evangelist successful is a vision of winning souls and bringing men and women to the place where they can be successful Christians.

A pastor is not a successful pastor just because he has the call of God on his life. He is a success because he has a vision to be a success. If you are a pastor, go to your church. Walk back and forth across your church building declaring, “Whatsoever I do shall prosper.” Get a vision of Psalms 1:3 working in your life. Whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Get a vision of your people learning to trust God. See them obeying God and becoming men and women whom God can use. Study the Word. Meditate upon the Word. A true pastor doesn’t quit his job when the first church problem arises. He has a heart for the people God has placed under his care and leadership. He gets to the root of the problem. He finds an answer to his problem. Pastors who became very successful leaders did not become successful without a vision, a plan, a purpose, a zeal, and an enthusiasm.

Be Consumed With Your Vision

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:2-3).

No one ever becomes a great success until they are consumed with their vision or dream. Be so consumed with your dream and vision that it becomes a part of you day and night. Let nothing stop you. Be bold about your vision. Talk about your vision. Think about your vision. Dream about your vision. Write your vision. Nail it to the walls of your house. Paste it on the dash of your car. Get enthused about it. Get busy. Do something about your vision. Act like a winner. Talk like a winner. Think like a winner. Be positive. Talk positive about your dream. Be consumed with your vision. That is why God told Habakkuk to write the vision and make it plain. God wanted him to have a complete understanding of that vision that would burn in his bones day and night. You must win! You can win! You are Born to Win!

Be Committed To Your Vision

You must be committed to everything you do. Many businesses fail because of the lack of commitment. Marriages fail when there is a lack of commitment. Pastors often suffer because the people are not committed to the church. If you are not committed to God and His Word, you will likely not be committed to anything else. If you are not committed to your vision, you will quit under pressure. If you are not committed, you are doomed to fail.

Be committed to your task. Be committed to your job. Refuse to give up. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left until you accomplish your vision or goal. Think commitment. Talk commitment. Dream commitment. Plan commitment. See yourself committed. Leave nothing to chance and good luck. Don’t look for success-work for it. Don’t expect your ship to come in-build one. Stay on the main road of success. Detours cause you to lose your vision. There is a lot of work to do. Let’s do it. You are Born to Win. Win, brother, WIN!

Change Your Ways To Be A Winner

As you dream, begin to remove things out of your life that could be a hindrance to your vision. Make sure you are not dominated by the flesh. Get yourself lined up with the Word of God. Correct the wrong in your life. Repent and turn from every evil way. Sin will kill your visions and bring your dreams to a sudden stop. Let the Lord help you overcome evil, then get a vision and go for it.

Learn From Your Mistakes

Laugh at your mistakes and learn from them. Use your failures as stepping stones instead of stumbling blocks. If something doesn’t turn out the way you expected it to turn out, recommit yourself. Go at it again. Plan to win. Plan to succeed. Be determined. Say, “I must succeed. I shall succeed. I’ve got to win.” You can do it. God will help you do it. Angels will help you do it and, under most circumstances, someone else will help you to attain that goal.

CHAPTER TWO

FACING OPPOSITION

Winners Will Face Opposition

Sometime in life, you will face opposition if you set out to become a winner, a success, a dreamer. Opposition may come from your pastor, your school teacher, your employer, your best friend, or even a family member. They will try to stop you. They will be quick to tell you it can’t be done. They even go on and tell you about a hundred others who tried something like you are about to try and failed. They will accuse you of being proud. Others may try to make you feel like you’re going crazy. Although they may accuse you of everything in the “book,” a winner can’t be stopped.

You may ask, “You mean Christians will try to stop a Christian who is set out to do something for the Lord?” They sure will. Weak, sickly, down-trodden church people don’t want a winner around. They become jealous and are quick to let you know what they think of your enthusiasm. They feel it is their god-given duty to hinder the work of the winner. Few people can win, and they wonder what makes you think you can do it. Losers nearly always try to handcuff the winner, but WINNERS WON’T STOP!

Apostle Paul Faced Severe Opposition

Paul faced a lot of opposition in his ministry, but he had a vision to get the gospel into all the world. People tried to stop him. Devils tried to stop him. Storms tried to stop him. He was misunderstood, lied about, rejected, and accused. Everywhere he went, he was faced with someone or something that tried to stop him. He was stoned. He was beaten. He was shipwrecked. He was thrown in jail, but he had a vision that he refused to lose. When he was in stocks and in prison, he began to sing. The prison began to shake and there was a great revival there. He was determined to be a winner in spite of backsets and opposition.

Paul exposed his determination to win when he declared, I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air (I Corinthians 9:26). He wasn’t running a race to lose. He wasn’t uncertain as to how his life would turn out. He knew life was a fight. As he came to the end of his life, he gave one of the greatest testimonies written by man. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing (2 Timothy 4:6-8). He made it. He was Born to Win.

Failures Don’t Stop Winners

Many famous and successful men and women have failed time and again, but they refused to quit. Proverbs 24:16 says, For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again. Everyone faces times in life when they are tempted to quit. Just because a person fails does not make him or her a failure. No one is a failure unless they quit. It is those who keep their eye on their goal, their vision, and their dream who become a success. Remember the old saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”

So many never have anything to give them courage. All they know is they have failed and failed and failed. They are discouraged and are sure they are born losers. If you have been a failure, get up and start out again. Let me say again; you are not a failure unless you quit.

Some fathers, mothers, and church leaders have taught their people and children to be good losers and to rejoice even if they do lose. No wonder we have so many losers. I am not saying a winner will never lose. Of course, in games, someone will lose, but what should our attitude be? “I may have lost this time, but I will try harder the next time.”

I Will Win

You tried and tried and tried and failed

 And yet you wouldn’t quit.

You may have thought a dozen times,

 “I’m quitting, this is it.”

But then you heard that little voice

 Deep down within you say;

“I may have failed a thousand times,

But I will win today!”

CHAPTER THREE

 GETTING A WINNING ATTITUDE

 It Takes Hard Work

How did others become successful and remarkable winners? Many of them got an idea and worked hard to become a success. Mr. Thomas A. Edison said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.” That statement is well worth remembering. Successful people agree that to be a success is hard work. It takes sweat and tears. God said, In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return (Genesis 3:19). It takes a diligent, strong, and zealous person to succeed to the fullest extent.

When the Heart is Knit with the Word of Truth

When the Heart is Knit with the Word of Truth

It supposed to be when an honest heart is knit with the Word of Truth… When a person picks up the Bible and reads it, what does that Bible mean to that person who picked up that Bible? Somebody could read the Bible, and it does not mean much to them, because their heart is not knit with the Word of Truth. Whether you agree with the Word of God or not, there are doctrinal things we need to know.

Daniel Rodes

This book will stand either for us or against us at the day of judgement. When your heart is not honest, you cannot go to the Word and receive the Truth of the Word of God. You can’t get to the Word. The key of getting to the Word of God is honesty. The way to get to the Bible and understand it is totally giving your heart to the Lord, when God’s heart and your heart match. They are knit together, joined together in one. Then when the Lord speak through His Word you hear it and understand it. Because an open heart, an honest heart receives revelation from this book called the Bible, and reveals to us the things which otherwise would be hidden. For the Word of God is hidden from anyone who does not want to know the truth.

The Spirit of Truth will lead you into all truth only if you have an honest heart, free from deception and deceitfulness. Jeremiah 17:9 tells us why people are not open to the truth and cannot receive the truth. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jer 17:9 KJV)

Binding and Loosing

Matthew 18:18If we understand what Heavenly Father has for us, we would not have to go through the half what we go through. It is because we are ignorant in the area we have to be educated in.

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?” (Mat 16:13-15 KJV)

It does not matter what other people think of the Lord, it is what you think of Him. A person once told, that power to bind and loose was given only to Peter. Let’s check in the Bible. “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18). Who is the “ye” – Peter? People sometimes take part of the Bible and become confused.

Binding and loosing was done by words. It is not a minor, it is a major operation. It is God given. Casting all cares upon the Lord has to do with loosing. We don’t go by feeling, but by the fact of the Word of God.

More about Binding and Loosing by Daniel Rodes:

Binding and Loosing through the Blood

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)

Until I made a study on Binding and Loosing, I didn’t realize how powerful this subject could be when used in connection with speaking the blood. Almost every verse in the Bible can be associated with binding and loosing. Some are more obvious than others. Jesus told the disciples to go into the city and they would find a colt tied. He said, “loose him and bring him to me” (Mark 11:2). Under the circumstances, Jesus could not use the colt until His disciples loosed him. Before Jesus raised Lazarus, He instructed those with Him: “take ye away the stone” (John 11:39). In other words, “Loose the stone.” After He raised Lazarus from the dead, He said, “Loose him [Lazarus] and let him go” (verse 44). The Lord uses us to bind and to loose. Jesus didn’t say binding and loosing is one of the keys to the Kingdom, He said they ARE the keys. This became more clear to me when I was staying in a hotel room not far from where I was on a preaching assignment. I had just unlocked the door and walked inside when the Lord spoke to me. “The keys you are holding to this hotel room give you the authority to bind and loose, to lock and unlock these doors, although you do not own this hotel. I have given the keys to the Kingdom to My children to bind and loose as needed.” Then He added, “Go, teach My faithful children that I have given them authority to use the keys to the Kingdom to bind and to loose as needed.” Without an understanding of the power of speaking the blood in connection with binding and loosing, we would not be as successful as the Lord would want us to be. We first of all have to understand what we have the authority to bind and loose. Jesus used the word “whatsoever.”

Binding Ourselves to the Word

The Lord began to teach me the importance of binding myself to the Word of God. At first, I questioned if this was scriptural because it was all new to me. I discovered in Proverbs 6:20-22 that we are instructed to bind the commandments continually upon our hearts: “My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.” He said, “tie them about thy neck. This means to bind them to your neck. The Lord spoke of the children of Israel on a number of occasions as being stiffnecked. This symbol of tying them about your neck would eliminate the “sin-drome” of becoming stiffnecked. You will notice Proverbs 3:3 emphasizes the same teaching: “Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart.”Also in Proverbs 7:1-3 we read, “My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, [something to seize with]write them upon the table of thine heart.” God wanted to make sure His children would always obey His Word and do all that He commanded.

In the New Testament, Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). We can’t keep the commandments unless we are bound to them. By binding the Word upon us, we become so attached to the Word of God that we will speak the Word and do according to all that is written in the Word. When we are bound to the Word, we are bound to truth, and we are bound to God. God and His Word cannot be separated. In Deuteronomy 11:18-20, the children of Israel were instructed to bind His book of the Law upon them: “Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates.” They were to have God’s Word become a daily part of them.

When we bind the Word of God upon us, we are binding ourselves to the blood covenant that Jesus bought for us on Calvary. When we bind ourselves to the Word of God and the blood covenant, it has an effect on the whole family, just as it did in the Old Testament…

Loosing the Bands of Wickedness

Now, let’s turn our attention to loosing the bands of wickedness as recorded in Isaiah 58:6: “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” If we could not have the power within us to loose the bands of wickedness, the Lord would never have commanded us to do so, would He? Can we completely control all the wickedness in the world by loosing the bands of wickedness? Certainly not. We cannot control the world, but we can hinder the works of wickedness when we take the time to fast and intercede and then take the keys of binding and loosing and do the job God has called us to do.

All across the world, people are being controlled by wickedness. The uncontrollable evil of this generation is ripping through our land like a mighty tornado, destroying everyone in its path. It is time for the blood-washed, blood-bought saints of God to arise and let the devil and his hosts know that through the power of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, we will start loosing the bands of wickedness. We will undo those heavy burdens cast upon God’s people. We will let the oppressed go free. We will break every yoke, not by our power or our might, but by the mighty spirit of the living God. We have had some astounding things happen through the power of speaking the blood. One of the ways we can break these bands off and do the work outlined in Isaiah 58 is by making statements similar to this, “In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the power of the blood of the Lamb and by the mind, body and Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ that I am a part of, I loose myself and my family from the evil influence of this nation. I loose the burdens from off the people of this nation according to the authority given to me in Isaiah 58:6.” This needs to be done in faith, knowing that you have the authority to do so because you are protected by the blood and are a part of the blood covenant. It must be understood that we cannot control the whole world, nor change nations on our authority. We can only hinder the work of evil. Although we have the responsibility and duty through the Lord Jesus Christ to bind and loose, it is the Lord that does the work. We are only instruments in the work…

Can We Bind the Devil?

For years, I have heard Christians trying to bind the devil with little or no success. Yet, for some reason, they felt they were keeping him bound. I have even heard little children say, “I bind you devil.” The more I was around the devil-binding crowd, the more I noticed they were getting deeper into trouble and often ended up calling me for counseling.

Years ago, I heard a well-known teacher teaching on the subject of binding the strong man, whom he said was the devil. He explained how to bind him in the name of Jesus. He used such Scriptures as Matthew 12:29: “Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house,” and Mark 3:27: “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.” His message was quite convincing and appeared to be backed by the Scriptures. The only problem was I was unable to see the necessary results that one would expect in binding the devil. He seemed to be as free in his operation as he was before he was supposed to be bound. I need to be more bold, I thought, Maybe this will help.

Soon after that, I had an unusual experience while I was endeavoring to bind the power of the devil as this teacher taught. I was speaking boldly, “I bind you devil in the name of Jesus,” when the Lord spoke to me.

“What are you binding the devil with?” He asked.

I was startled and didn’t know what to say. Finally I answered, “I am binding him in the name of Jesus.”

“No,” He answered, “You can cast out demons in the name of Jesus, but you can’t bind the devil in the name of Jesus.”

“Well then,” I said, “I guess I must bind him with the blood of Jesus.”

“You can’t bind him with the blood either,” the Lord replied. “You overcome the devil by the blood, but you can’t bind him with the blood.” Then He began to reveal something to me that changed my life. He said, “You cannot bind the devil. All you can do is hinder, restrain or resist his operation by using the Word of God like Jesus did in the wilderness. Satan cannot be bound until the angel is given the authority to bind him (as recorded in Revelation 20:1-3), because his time has not come to be bound.”

If you think about it, what would be the purpose of trying to bind a devil that Jesus has already defeated when he can be resisted? The Bible says, “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (I John 4:4). According to Hebrews 2:14 and I John 3:8, Jesus destroyed the works of the devil. Then in Colossians 2:15, we are told Jesus spoiled all the powers that come against us: “Having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”If we study these two words, “destroyed” and “spoiled,” we find that Jesus abolished the works of the devil. He caused his operation to be hindered. He disarmed him. He brought his kingdom to ruin. He caused his kingdom to fail. He brought his powers to naught and made void the works of the devil. Only in the lives of those who are cleansed by the blood, redeemed by the blood and protected by the blood is the devil defeated and weakened, because he has one hundred percent power in the world. When we are engaged in slander, talebearing, strife, rebellion and division, we step out from under the blood protection and the devil is no longer a powerless force. The world does not have a defeated devil, but one who is able to kill, steal and destroy.

There is Power in Speaking the Blood

The Old Testament Passover

The night the children of Israel left Egypt out of the land of bondage and slavery, God gave them some specific directions to follow. They were to kill a lamb, apply the blood to the doors, roast its flesh, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. God told them how, when, and where to apply the blood of the sacrificial lamb. God’s instructions were, “And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat itAnd they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it”(Exodus 12:7-8).

They were also informed, “…none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning” (Exodus 12:22). If they had gone out of the house when the destroyer came through, they would not have been protected by the blood. They knew the life of a family member was in danger if they didn’t do according to ALL the Lord commanded. The blood was their protection from the destroyer that was to pass through that night and destroy the firstborn. In verse 13, the Lord said, “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” Notice, when the blood was applied correctly, the people were safe from the destroyer.

The Lord called this night, “the LORD’S Passover” (Exodus 12:11), when they were to come out of the land of Egypt and from the house of bondage.

by Daniel Rodes

Christ Our Passover

The Old Testament saints had a tangible lamb and blood. God has given us the bread and wine as a symbol of the broken body and shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ when we partake of communion. In the New Testament, the Lord refers to the commemoration of communion as “Christ our Passover” (I Corinthians 5:7). As the children of Israel were given instructions concerning how to prepare the Passover, God has also given us some specific instructions to examine ourselves in preparation for this very important Passover ordinance. We are to make certain our lives are in agreement with God’s Word and that we have peace with God and man before partaking of communion (Passover): “…let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup” (I Corinthians 11:28). The Bible plainly tells us that it is not our responsibility to judge our fellowmen, but to judge ourselves: “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged” (I Corinthians 11:31).

Preparing for the Passover

Now let’s look at I Corinthians 11:27: “Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.” This word “unworthily” means “to be irreverent” or “not worthy” to take communion under the present conditions. We may ask the question, “What makes us unworthy?” In the earlier part of I Corinthians 11, Paul informed the people that there were divisions, heresies, and, in some cases, drunkenness among them which had brought them to a dangerous position. Some sins may seem small, but they could disqualify us to take communion. Habitual strife, envy, contention, slander, talebearing, lying, division, unforgiveness, disobedience or hypocrisy could cause us to be unworthy. It is important that we judge ourselves honestly and repent of any sin and renounce it. Just to say “I was wrong” or “I’m sorry” is like trying to wash a dirt floor with a wet mop. We must renounce and forsake sin.

The Consequences of Taking Communion Unworthily

As the Israelites were aware that they were not safe from the destroyer if they disobeyed God’s instructions, it is just as important for us to partake of the communion service reverently and in godly fear, or we will not be protected from the destroyer. Perhaps many Christians do not realize what could happen to them if they take communion in a state of unworthiness. The last part of I Corinthians 11:27 says, …[he] shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.” Then verses 29 and 30 read, “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.” Let’s analyze the words “damnation,” “weak,” “sickly,” and “sleep.” The word “damnation” means “being sentenced, judged, or damned.” “Weak” means “to be impotent, feeble, or weak.” “Sickly” means “to be infirmed or sick.” And the word “sleep” means “to be dead or deceased.”

Taking communion unworthily could cause a person to experience one or more of the following:

1. They will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

2. They will be condemned.

3. They may become weak.

4. They may become sickly.

5. They could die prematurely.

It is doubtful if the Corinthians who were sick, weak or dying were aware that their problem could be traced back to the communion table. Maybe they didn’t know why so many of them were sick or dying.

Chastisement

In my travels across nations of the world over the years preaching the Gospel, training church leaders, speaking in conferences and conventions and holding healing crusades, I often pray for people who have been suffering guilt and condemnation in their lives for no apparent reason. Some of these people are suffering guilt and condemnation because they have taken communion unworthily. They may not even be aware that they have done this. Someone asked me, “If you took communion ignorantly and were not aware of the danger involved, wouldn’t God overlook that?” The answer to that question is found in Acts 17:30: “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.” The word “winked” in this verse means “to overlook” or “not punish,” but the Lord said clearly that He commands all men in the New Testament dispensation to repent of any wrongdoing or to suffer chastisement (disciplinary correction) from His hand. “But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world” (I Corinthians 11:32). Why would God be so harsh with people who partake of His communion service unworthily? I believe the answer is found in the fact that the body and blood of Christ are spiritual, sacred and precious. Because of this, we must partake of His body and blood reverently and in godly fear. The Lord brings chastisement upon us by means of correction that we should not be condemned with the world.

To eat unleavened bread and to drink grape juice is not dangerous in itself, when taken in the natural. Communion is not a natural ordinance, but a spiritual ordinance. When we take communion, we are commemorating the broken body and the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ who is our Passover. There is great power in the body and blood of Jesus, and I believe that we have yet to learn the true value of them.

Restoration

I believe there is deliverance and pardon for those who may have taken communion in a state of unworthiness. I’m not suggesting that everyone has taken communion with the wrong motive or with sin in their life, nor am I suggesting that you, the reader, take a guilt trip if you may have taken communion unworthily. Certainly not all weakness, sickness or death comes because of misuse of communion or because of sin. If there is a question, however, I believe it would be wise to examine ourselves to see if somewhere along the way we may have taken communion unworthily. If so, thank God, there is a way to be restored.

Eternal Redemption. Daniel Rodes

Many people are sin conscious, because they do not know what the blood of Jesus does. It takes faith to believe that the blood cleanses you from all sin.

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Heb 9:11-12 KJV)

1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. (Heb 10:1-2 KJV)

If God said He gave you eternal redemption, you have to believe it. “But I don’t feel like that!” It has nothing to do with reality. You need to get rid of the conscientiousness of sin (I’m just a sinner saved by grace) and start seeing yourself in victory.

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (Heb 10:16 KJV)

I want you to notice: the law is in your heart and in your mind.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, (Heb 10:19 KJV)

You are no longer hoping you prayers will be heard,  but you have relationships with the Lord and have direct understanding. Men have tendency to go by feelings. But you are saved by His blood, not if you feel it or not. We need to walk by faith in the blood.

Today we will talk about understanding the communion service. What do we have communion for? What are we expecting to accomplish? We will never understand communion until we understand why Jesus wants us to eat Hid flesh and drink His blood.

We were born with sinful nature.  There is no one righteous. It took something to get us broke loose from sin. I need to appeal my case before God. We are reconciled to God through the atonement.

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. (Rom 5:10-11 KJV)

Understanding How To Resist The Devil

James4

Bible talks about the devil, but does not glorify him. An average person does not know how to handle this character. The difference between victorious person and defeated is who is in charge. If the Lord is, you are victorious, if the devil is in charge of your life, it brings defeat.

Did you make a point when you get up on the morning to give thanks to the Lord, to thank him, that I am more than a conqueror? Then you will see the results of it.

People like to study the devil. What is the Lord doing for you? What are the angels doing for you? Do you know how to resist the devil? It is not to ignore him, but to speak to him. “Submit yourself to God, resist the devil, and he shall flee from you” (James 4:7). This is a promise. The problem is – are you truly submitted to God? When you are submitted to God, you have authority over the devil, he does not have authority over you.

Many people take resisting as temptation, but it is only one thing. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. Do not give place to the devil. You resist him, “I am not yielding to you”, that is how the sword of the Spirit works. That how Jesus resisted. He could have sinned, but He did not. Satan will misuse the Word of God trying to defeat you. That is why we need to know the Word, to know what it actually says.

Understanding the Mind

Understanding the MindPart 3. How to Retain The mind is really keeps us going. We start about restoration of the mind and learning to retain. We might retain negative things and forget the positive.

Why do we have to have restoration or renewing of the mind? “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Rom 12:2 KJV)

How do we get our minds working in love, joy and peace? Natural love is different, than the love of God. The love of God is enduring, steadfast, it cannot fail.

True love, joy and peace starts in the thinking capacity. Everything that enters your heart goes through the mind. “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1Pe 1:13 KJV).

You have total control of your mind. No matter what is going on in your mind you have to approve it. That is why Bible says, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2Co 10:5 KJV). You take these thoughts into captivity.

The Ship is Sinking

“For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.” (Isaiah 9:16).1

The Ship is Sinking. by Daniel Rodes. Book cover.

*   *   *

On September 16, 2001, I was ministering in one of the western states of the USA when I received a vision of a sinking ship. It was then the Lord spoke to me and said, “The ship is sinking. Some have seen the danger and have taken to life boats, but they are still too close to the ship. When it sinks, they will sink with it.” He said the ship is the system that many of the plain people and a few of the other more conservative denominations are following. Some of the people have come out from the system, but are still trying to hold on to some of the unscriptural doctrines and commandments which they have been taught. In some cases, they resist what they know to be truth and are suspicious of anyone who would reveal to them the truth. If someone comes to them with partial truth, for the most part, they will accept it.

Daniel Rodes

The Lord said to me, “Some people will get mad and say, ‘This is not the word of the Lord. God does not speak through prophets today.’ Many of them will stop their ears to the truth and will reject any messenger who dares to try to correct their traditional system. If they were honest, they would have to admit something is wrong. I have warned them, but they do as the Pharisees — make the Word of God of none effect through their tradition. Many of them will mock and become enraged. Others will conclude that it doesn’t apply to them. Fear them not. Give the word as I have given it to you.”

In this vision, it became clear to me that there is some good in the conservative churches. This is an overall message for the church, rather than all churches being guilty of all the things that the Lord has spoken against this system. ((Note: The Lord made it clear to me that I should not open myself to discuss this matter with anyone who would try to criticize, condemn or cause an argument concerning this message. I have given this message as clearly as I know how as the Lord has delivered it to me. By no means, do I have any prejudice or hard feelings toward this people. I have delivered this message by the grace, mercy and love of God. It is my prayer that those who read this message will be very careful how they respond to it. The Lord has deeply impressed upon me that those who will not obey this word and turn from their wicked ways will find themselves sinking with the ship. I, in no way, consider this message to be infallible or equivalent to the inspired Word of God, but I must warn that the over all message is a word of the Lord and must be heeded.

The Everlasting Gospel

The only place the everlasting Gospel is mentioned is in the book of Revelation: “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people (Rev 14:6).In Matthew 24:14 it said: “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” We have a tendency to hear what we want to hear rather then what the Bible has to say. It says, the preachers preaching it will be a witness; they will not only preach it, but live it. Witness usually means ready to lay down your life for it.

Jesus went to different villages preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom in Matthew 9:35. He also healed the sick of every disease, indicating that the Gospel of the Kingdom will have to do that.

Understanding God and His Word

The average denominational system automatically gives their definition for what is required of a child of God. They draw up their traditions, commandments and standards to defend rules and regulations. Each denomination boasts superiority in understanding the fundamental structure of the faith. They skillfully interweave Scriptures with their standard and the Biblical standard set forth by the Almighty God, thus making the Word of God of little or none effect. Most Believers feel they were providentially born into this “ideal, scriptural,” denomination, whether they have a proper or a manipulative interpretation of the Bible. This explains the statement made by Jesus, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves” (Matthew 23: 15).

This may help to explain the struggles, frustrations and lack of fulfillment in the lives of the majority of Believers across the world.

Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The heart must be 100% honest before you can have 100% TRUTH from the WORD!!

Only an honest heart will understand God and His Word. How does one get an honest Heart?

Understanding How the Heart of Man and the Heart of God are Unified in Interpreting the Word:

If a person does not have an honest heart he/she will not interpret the Word correctly.

If we do not understand God and His attributes, we will not understand His Word. If we are incapable of understanding His Word, we will never be able to understand God. God and His word cannot be separated. Jesus declared himself to be the word of God.

Abounding With Thanksgiving

“Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:7)

Thanksgiving that comes from the heart is different from that comes out of your lips.

1 Timothy 2:1-2  “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.” Stop here and analyse this: “For all men?” He could not mean that, could He? Then He goes on “2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

There is no way you may rail on a leader and pray for him. If you have problems praying for somebody give thanks for him first. Because you can get him change. You don’t thank God for him because he is your enemy, but because he is your fellow human.

Joy!

Psalm 137:3-4  3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.  4 How shall we sing the LORD’S song in a strange land?If you are backslidden you’ll have a miserable life. Gage in your life is your joy. Love, joy and peace are 3 main things that make a Christian going.Psalm 126:1-6 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.  2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.  3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.  4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.  5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.  6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.Which of those sections would you rather live in? Where do you live in? Where we hung our harps on the willows or where our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing? What is going to determine this is where your relationships with the Lord is.Sermon. Audio. MP3. 56 minutes.

Understanding God and His Kingdom

Дэниэл Роудс. Daniel RodesThere is controversy on who God is. The God we serve is not a passing god. Diana and Baal are gone because they are passing gods.

We came to a place that we shove a holy God aside in reference to our belief. Someone told me, “You refer to the Bible all the time, but my church people refer to denomination we were brought up with.”

You cannot separate this Book from what the Word is. Once you have been translated to His kingdom you now are a new thing.

When human fell, human became perverted. In Christ we have a picture of what human become when they are not perverted. We have pieces of a puzzle and we start putting it together.

When God becomes our Heavenly Father, there are relationships, and we can understand Him. I know what pleases my Father. Until we learn what pleases the Father we will only relate to God as someone upstairs.

Farewell Message

If you understand heart – not heart that beat your blood, but the heart condition of man, the very innermost being of an individual. What is wrong that the Bible does not work? Why do we need to shift gears when a trouble comes? We have faith as long as it is not too bad, but when it become serious, it is different.

A Lion Killed My Dog

In Montana there was a little dog named Max. I’ve know it for years. This dog was quite a little character. Once he went to a house on a steep hill. He did not come back. They decided to check on him. They come there and see that little Max is dead and a mountain lion was licking his blood off of him.

Today I will focus on spiritual dogs and lions.

Journey To The Sabbath

Sunday keeping church keeps the Sabbath

Richard Noel

Truth, Light and Life Mission in Penn Laird, VAAt our church our brother Tim Conley, told us about Bible discussions he was having at work with his coworker Kevin Campbell. They were discussing the Sabbath. Tim later told of Kevin discussing keeping the Sabbath. Another member of our church, Frankie Cox, told of visiting a church nearby which had just started keeping the Sabbath. We later got directions to that church from Frankie. In January of 2005 we visited the congregation that had begun keeping the Sabbath.

As it turned out, the new congregation of Sabbath-keepers meets in Penn Laird. The church is a simple building in a country location.
